Spring

Spring on the North Shore is short but adventurous. One day may bring rays of sunshine while the next a foot of fresh powder! From spring skiing to exploring the area’s raging rivers and waterfalls, spring is a beautiful time of year.

We off a number of free activities and tours to our guests. Spring activities that are free of charge include hiking tours, shuttle service, kayaking, campfires, pitch and putt golf, lobby crafts, kids camps and many others.

For questions about the following activities, please contact our Activities Department at 218.663.6695.

Resort Activities

9-Hole Pitch and Putt Golf

Try our 9-hole "pitch and putt" golf course. Beginning golfers love the "no pressure" situation. Clubs are available at the Activities Desk in the Lodge. No tee times required. This activity is free to our guests.

Campfires

Available every evening, just ask at the front desk and we’ll get it started and you can keep it going as long as you like. We’ve also got the makings for S’mores available; you're never too young or too old to enjoy these traditional sticky delights!

Sea Villa Playground

Located just down from the guest building in the middle of the Villas and right next to Lake Superior, this park area is a glorious spot to spend time as a family. Picnic tables and benches overlook the shore just a short walk from your unit.

Shuttle Service

Interested in hiking a point-to-point section of the Superior Hiking Trail? Please sign up 24 hours in advance, so we are better able to accommodate you. Call us at 218.663.6695 or stop by the Activities Desk in the Main Lodge.

Swimming Pool

Lutsen Resort has two swimming pool complexes, including hot tubs and saunas at both. Guests staying around the Lodge have access to the Lodge pool while Sea Villa guests can enjoy the pool at that site, including a splash deck.

Area Recreation

Fishing

Lutsen Resort was first homesteaded by a fisherman in 1885 and there is a long tradition of fishing in the area. Whether you are coming with a group of friends to fish "the big Lake" or are a family looking for a "fishing plus" experience you won’t be disappointed!

Rock Climbing

Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply (218.387.3136) provide guided day trips to nearby Carlton Peak. For experienced climbers, Superior North Outdoor Center (218.387.2186) is our local hot spot for climbing gear and information. If there is a route on the North Shore, they've climbed it.

Shopping

Not far from your lodging at Lutsen Resort, you’ll find great shopping options. The Lutsen and Grand Marais area have attracted a wide range of artists who have chosen to live and work here, as well as businesses that reflect the unique features of the area.
