![]() BikingThe Lutsen area provides a variety of biking opportunities from easy paved trails, dirt and mud forest service roads, to tight simple track. For an easy ride, spend a day on the Gitchi Gami State Trail, which when completed will run 86 miles. For a 14 mile ride, start at the nearby Chateau Leveaux trailhead parking lot and bike to Schroeder where you can refuel at the Schroeder Bakery (2108-663-7208) before turning around. This ride passes through woodland glades, over the waterfalls of the Temperance River, and has a great view of Carlton Peak, the most unique mountain on the north shore. For a taste of Forest Service road riding, head up Onion River Road to the Oberg parking lot, then ride your bike t to the end of the road. Round trip is 11km. For single track mountain biking, head to Pincushion Mountain and ride the ski trails and the trails specifically designed for biking.
